Specializations
The following genres are Gold Leaf Press’ core competencies and (not coincidentally) are your strong suits for launching a writing career or realizing your writing, publishing or career objectives. Furthermore, and no less important, if you find that you, your profession or recreational hobby falls into one of these categories, especially if you already have material created that could fall into one of these categories, we urge you to consider becoming published.
For instance, does your profession or avocation lend itself to conferences, conventions, trade shows or workshops? Do you attend them from time to time? Do you speak, present or participate at these events or are there opportunities available for you to do so? If your answer even borders on “yes”, you should have a published book.
And if you recognize the importance having a published book would be to your personal or professional aspirations but the thought of writing a book is simply too overwhelming, remember, Gold Leaf Press can ghostwrite or co-author your book for you. It would probably surprise you if you knew how many books are “written” this way. In fact, many of Gold Leaf Press’ titles were created from the author’s or client company’s handouts, spiral bound manuals and typewritten notes – always under the client’s supervision, of course.
Memoirs and Legacy Publishing
There have been periods of time during the past 11 years, when this type of publishing was why Gold Leaf Press kept going. Business is tough, but staying in business without a purpose greater than profit, is tougher in Gold Leaf Press’ view.
In effect, every book and manuscript Gold Leaf Press has impacted was a memoir or a legacy. For, once a manuscript is completed – and a book published – its author is immortalized in print and fifty or a hundred years later, he or she will be introduced to a granddaughter or great grandson who will feel connected to a relative heretofore only known through old photos or a passing story or two.
Committed to her conviction that there is no greater legacy than a published book that encapsulates the author’s life, experiences and wisdom for all who come after, Rebecca J. Ensign will always reserve resources and attention for those who wish to permanently imprint their lives through Gold Leaf Press’ imprint.

Army Daze
By Ron Green
$15.00
Originally written as one zany soldier’s memoirs during his two years as a drafted soldier stationed in Germany from 1957-1959, Army Daze delights military buffs, veterans and soldiers from all generations and military branches. “I wrote this book to get even,” says author Ron Green, “with the army for what they did to me. What they did was give me two of the best years of my life.” From this accomplishment, he has enjoyed reliving those days and swapping stories at book signings and on the radio.

A memoir primarily because it is permeated with personal reflection and memories of a way of life long since passed, Cogito? (I Think?) is also a trade quality book that is designed to make you think … really think … about how we got to where we are and where we might be going. Paul Faba’s sense of humor casts a shadow of a smile on every page in such a way that readers don’t even realize they’ve just been cleverly stung by Faba’s wit and wisdom. |

This title is without question one of most ambitious memoirs and greatest tributes anyone could ever write. In his book, Dick Wells traces his youth, and that of his fellow members of the Plymouth ( Michigan) High School class of 1960, from seventh grade all the way through their senior year. Supplemented by yearbook photos and “xerographed” handouts, classmates, characters, teachers, administrators and other luminaries are profiled, praised and immortalized – through actual events and their own commentaries. The end result is one of the finest, most comprehensive and entertaining memoirs ever created. It is also an excellent model for others who value a past era of their lives or their community. |

Virginia Smith had written poetry her entire life. So, one year, her son Scott gathered up the poems he had on various types of paper and sent an inquiry to Gold Leaf Press regarding the costs involved and procedure for converting the loose pages of his mother’s poems into a book and giving it to her as a Christmas gift. Her gratitude for having her poems formally prepared and published is as lingering as the poetry collection is to all of Virginia’s friends, relatives, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and of course, Gold Leaf Press. |

Gold Leaf Press does live its message. This book is a collection of poems written by Rebecca J. Ensign’s grandfather, who passed away in 1945, long before any of his grandchildren were born. Discovered in a box in the attic by Percy Mac Arthur’s cousin, these poems were shared with family members and eventually found their way to Gold Leaf Press. Rebecca was quite sure she wasn’t the only one who treasured the experience of “getting to know” her grandfather through his poems. Consequently, this experience prompted two lasting results: Rebecca and her sister created this book as a Christmas present for their mother, sisters and nieces and nephews and Rebecca J. Ensign made a commitment to always remain available to anyone who wished to commemorate a special person in (or to) their life through a professionally prepared published book. |
